An educational license is for academic
institutions and their students using
CSIM in organized classes, independent
study projects, unfunded research, and
other not-for-profit educational activities.
The CSIM Simulation Software for
the Educational License is meant for
teaching (not research) uses within
institutions of higher learning. To
qualify, an agreement to this effect
must be signed by the Department Chair.
Funded research projects must use the
Professional License. The software package
consists of the appropriate binary copies
of the library (C and C++ or Java),
header and example files,
and documentation for each of the operating
platforms and the Software License Agreement.
The Software License Agreement is enclosed.
The Single Seat License allows for
use on a single computer at any one
time (refered to as a seat) for Java
or for both
C and C++ libraries of a single platform.
A free Personal License for the same
user is also available for use on a
laptop or the licensee's home computer
(for PC environments only) when it is
not in use on the licensed platform.
A special request which includes user
and use information must be submitted.
The Single-Environment Departmental License for C/C++ is intended for use on
all workstations of a single operating system in a departmental lab.
The Departmental License for Java is intended for use on
all workstations of any platform in a departmental lab.
The Multi-Environment Departmental License for C/C++ is for use on all
workstations and all CSIM-supported environments (when ordered at the same
time) in a departmental lab. Note: The Multi-Environment Department License
only covers CSIM 19 for the C/C++ platforms and does not include a license
for CSIM for Java.
If you would like to purchase Departmental Licenses for both C/C++ and Java,
please contact Mesquite Software.
Installation and bug-fix support is
available for 90 days through email
and fax only on an as-available basis
through a designated support contact.
An Extended Support Agreement which
covers unlimited fax or email, bug-fix
updates, and feature enhancement upgrades
is also available. All licensed seats
at the site must be covered.
